Subject: US Equity Markets Turn Good Monthly Numbers
Date: 31 Oct 2002 20:26:23 -0000
Well, its Q3 2002. Not that its indicative of a trend, but October
just closed on the US equity markets, and it was the second largest
monthly increase in value, ever-11%, (January 1987 was the largest at
13.7%).
However, just to sober your convictions about mortgaging your house to
jump back in the equity markets, there is still a 14% chance of at
least a 25% downside happening before mid 2003.
FWIW ...
John
BTW, so much for the conjecture that the corporate crooks brought down
the equity markets-nothing happened on that front between September 30
and October 31 that would account for the market's second best
performance in its history.
