The Arduino can be used as a small brushed motor driver. (This design is for a small desktop drill press for DIY PCBs.) The databases, (i.e., gEDA schematics, PCB artwork, etc.,) in the motor.driver.tar.gz tape archive, should be installed in the directory of the arduino.shields.tar.gz tape archive of PCB Arduino shields. The sketch to use with the motor driver is spindle.ino.txt, which has two buttons to typematic increase or decrease the motor speed.

Figure I. Schematic of the Motor Driver

Figure 1, (1600X1200,) is the schematic of the motor driver. The motor driver is designed to be mounted on a DIN rail with DRG-01 mounting clips, with connectivity to the Ardunio through terminal blocks.

Figure 2 is the artwork for a single layer, 2 oz. copper, DIY PCB for the motor driver. The PCB is about 3" X 1.8". The holes on the left and right are for the DRG-01 DIN rail mounting clips. The PCB and a 12 V, 5A or 10A, DIN rail mounted power supply can be easily mounted on a 6" DIN rail.
